Elena Galbusera’s photobook Archistructural Brutalisation, 2018, reflects upon the author’s desire of being part of a society in which Brutalist architecture is not subjected to biased critiques. Neglecting the expertise of the architects of the 1950s-1970s encourages the mainstream nurturing of loathing and disgust towards Brutalist structures. Brutalism is cultural heritage, forced to submit itself to disregard, demolition and depreciation.
